Ever heard the saying "What you resist, persists"? Well, sometimes when we speak ill over our bodies, we anchor in the very thing we wish we could change. "Energy grows where attention goes". If you are placing your attention on what you don't like, then what you don't like is the thing that gets fed.
Language is powerful, especially the language we use for or against ourselves. It can create a feeling of value and self-worth, or it can create a feeling of shame and unworthiness. Developing a practice of positive self-talk, or positive body-talk is critical to developing a positive relationship to oneself.
Try a few simple affirmations to repeat to yourself. You might even speak these to yourself while standing in front of a mirror:
